About

The Houston area HIV/AIDS Resource Guide ("Blue Book") is a convenient source of information about services in the Greater Houston Area available to persons living with HIV/AIDS. This guide is not intended to be a directory of all agencies serving HIV+ persons. Inclusion in the guide does not imply endorsement by the Ryan White Planning Council.

In preparing this guide, we have relied upon the agencies themselves to provide us with information about their programs and services. Although we have done our best to provide accurate information, changes do occur, and what was correct when we went to print may no longer be correct at the time you are reading the guide.

We ask that you contact us at (713) 572-3724 or by e-mail at feedbackRWPC@hctx.net if you have comments or suggestions for improving future editions. Be sure to check our website for updated information: www.rwpchouston.org

History of Application
With the growing utilization of technology in daily lives, transitioning the "Blue Book" to a mobile compatible resource was a logical next step. This application utilizes and expands the current information in the Blue Book in an aim to improve access to the many services available.

The creation of an application was first envisioned in the late 2000s by the Ryan White Planning Council. The formatting of the current iteration of the application is based on the diligent work and leadership of Camille Keenan in collaboration with the Coalition for the Homeless to create a mobile version of the Homeless Help Card. (www.homelesshouston.org/helpcard)

Based on the Blue Book, information collected by the Ryan White Planning Council Office of Support, technical experience of Camille Keenan and the support of Diane Beck and Ruth Buzi, Raghuveer Puttagunta and Elizabeth Thoyakulathu developed this application as part of their 2014/15 Houston-Galveston Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. Principal programming was completed by Raghuveer Puttagunta. For information about the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship please visit their website at www.asfhg.org

We would like to thank the many people that have helped us develop and improve the application. We would like to provide special recognition to Ramya Puttagunta for organizing and publishing the application, and Shaney Flores for technical assistance in programming in python and HTML.
